Anti-Migrant Operation Dudula Marching in Durban: See What Nhlanhla have to say: Criminals & Traps

Operation Dudula was founded in Soweto in July 2021 and it is expanding its operations across the country. This movement has been linked to incidents of violence in townships against foreigners, who come from all over Africa. They are targeting black Africans. Currently, South Africa’s official unemployment rate is recorded to be 35.3% according to Statistics South Africa.

“You cannot sit at more than 50% unemployment rate and still have room to employ illegal migrants,” said Dan Radebe, one of the leaders of the group.

The request to march by Operation Dudula last week was turned down in Durban. On the 7th of April 2022, the Operation movement made an application to march and it was granted. The eThekhwini metro police spokesperson Parbhoo Sewpersad has confirmed. The march is currently underway today on Sunday the 10th of April 2022,

The alleged route for the march has been highlighted and it is important to note that the access to the workshop and surrounding areas will be denied because that’s where the city’s popular flea market is located, where local and foreign vendors sell their goods. This was planned to avoid chaos and criminality.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has criticized Operation Dudula’s handling of foreign nationals. He says groups such as Dudula are using vigilantism to deal with illegal immigration.

Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini, the leader of Operation Dudula has lamented that there are traps set for him and his movement including arranged criminal elements that are organized to cause violence in order to justify their “planned” arrests in KZN

Meanwhile, some Twitter users are criticizing the movement calling them to stop their operations
