Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini has been granted R1500 bail

Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini has been granted R1500 bail. It has emerged that his real name is Ntlantla Mohlauli.

Dlamini was arrested last week after a criminal case was opened against him by Dobsonville, Soweto resident Victor Ramerafe. Ramerafe’s home was allegedly ransacked by members of Operation Dudula, led by Dlamini after the movement accused Ramerafe of being a drug dealer. Ramerafe denied the allegations and registered a case with the Dobsonville police station with the help of the EFF.

Dlamini was charged with housebreaking, theft, and malicious damage to property

On 27 May 2022, Dlamini is expected to appear in court again for further investigation.

The bail conditions are that Dlamini must not have contact with the complainant Victor Ramerafe in any means or manner, physical (sending anybody) or on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)

He must hand over his passport- travel documents

Dlamini, should not change his residential address, if he wants to do that, he must inform the court. Dlamini to continue residing in his address in Pimville, Soweto

“National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) did not oppose the bail because there was no ground to do so”, said National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Phindi Mjonondwana

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) indicated the arrest of Dlamini was not politically motivated

NPA had prosecutorial decisions are guided by the evidence brought on the docket
