The Red Devils claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over Amakhosi to earn their 10th title in Africa’s premier club competition on Saturday at the Mohamed V Stadium in Morocco.

Goals from Mohamed Sherif, Mohamed Afsha, and Amr El Solia secured bragging rights for the Egyptians after Chiefs star Happy Mashiane received a straight red card on the cusp of half-time.https://a61e8e5c064924b10a3283486deebc52.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

Speaking to the reporters during a virtual press conference, Mosimane let the world know that he knew which players Baxter chose to start the match.

“Well, I guess the surprise maybe it was coach Baxter on the bench if I’m not mistaken or maybe Khama (Billiat) coming on, because I kept looking what the surprise was,” Mosimane told the media after the match.

“And my analyst was intensive on scouting… scouting the pictures from Kaizer Chiefs’ training sessions yesterday (Friday).

“At this space in time, we can see with the bibs that were given to the players in training. We knew the starting line-up, and the game came out as expected, to be honest,” added Mosimane.

On Mashiane’s red card, Mosimane said that the referee made the right call in sending off the 23-year-old.

“Yes‚ I understand that there was a red card. But the red card is part of football – you should not be reckless if you play the cup final.

“You should not be too emotional. And this happens in football.

“But we deserve it. We won it. We have been scoring goals in the semi-final’s we have been scoring goals all the way.

“So, congratulations to the team – Al Ahly deserve the 10th trophy to make history.”
